SHADOW 5000 VHS

The simple black VHS cassette was the main inspiration for the design of the Saucony Shadow 5000 VHS. The black upper is made of satin suede, the Saucony logo and heel tab are constructed from smooth leather and the toebox and side panel are predominantly mesh. The perforated suede leather tongue features a label with the TGWO script logo and the transparent eyelets represent spools of the tape. On the side of the heel you’ll find a debossed TGWO box logo. A TV test pattern color chart and a silver metallic VHSaucony logo top of the heel section. The mudguard of the right shoe features the classic control symbols of every video tape recorder: rewind, stop, pause, play, fast forward and record, whilst the eject symbol fits perfectly on the insole. Finally, the see through outsole was inspired by the TV screen and shows a mix of white noise and the TGWO script logo.

N9000 S.P.Q.R. SENATUS POPULUSQUE ROMANUS

The Good Will Out x Diadora N9000 SPQR has been inspired by Primus Pilus, the highest rank of a centurion in the Roman legion could occupy. Leadership for a group of more than hundred Roman soldiers was reserved for only a few officers. It was an outstanding honour that went hand in hand with considerable material privileges. Traditionally, this post was only awarded during the last year of service. The golden accents on the toebox and on the Diadora form strip symbolise the metal muscle armour that was fastened with brown leather straps. The colour red symbolises the legionnaires’ tunic that was worn underneath the suit of armour. The sides are garnished with the golden roman numerals of the Diadora model number N9000. The left heel shows the TGWO logo and the right heel the SPQR script.

S8000 NERONE
'THE RISE AND FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE'

The design of the S8000 Nerone uses various shades of red inspired by the myth that Nero sent out partisan to set the city Rome on fire, while he played his lyre and sang from a private stage. The top heel part is made of cracked patent leather pointing to the color of the glowing embers after a fire. Both tongues feature a debossed TGWO script logo. The Diadora model number S8000 is featured in red Latin numerals on the side. The heel part shows a debossed Nero coin design. The insole shows a print of glowing embers and a famous Nero quote saying: „Let it be wonderful or let it be awful as long as it is uncommon.“ To be honest - it is a quote from Nero portraied by Peter Ustinov in the 1951 movie Quo Vadis. TGWO loves movies, by the way there is also a Caligula movie. You should be at least at the age of 18 to watch the movie. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. It has the tagline „The most controversial film of the 20th century“ is now the most controversial film of the 21st century. Almost 40 years after it‘s release it is still listed on the „Index“ (list of censored media and publications) by the Federal Review Board for Publications Harmful to Young Persons. But we digress and this is a press information about sneakers not a movie talk, so: a Nero coin hang tag rounds up the design. The S8000 Nerone also comes with four pairs of laces in a special black shoebox with red logo prints.

V7000 CALIGULA
'THE RISE AND FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE'

The design of the V7000 Caligula uses various shades of off-white inspired by a toga, a distinctive garment of Ancient Rome which was a roughly semicircular cloth. It is between 12 and 20 feet in length, draped over the shoulders and around the body. The toe box of the V7000 is made of linen in style of that toga fabric. Another material used on the Diadora Quarter stripe is a golden cracked patent leather. Its inspiration comes from the opulence and wealth of that era. The heel of the V7000 Caligula is made of pony hair in reference to Caligula’s horse Incitatus which he worshipped with a stable of marble, an ivory manger, purple blankets and a collar of precious stones. He even wanted to appoint him as a Senator. The heel part also features a Caligula coin burned in with a branding iron as well as the Diadora model number V7000 written in Latin numerals. The insole features a print of the Incitatus horse hair and a famous Caligula quote saying: „Let them hate us so long as they fear us“. A Caligula coin hang tag rounds it up. The V7000 Caligula comes with four pairs of laces all packed in a white special shoebox with golden logo prints.

GEL-LYTE V
'KOYO'

The Good Will Out (TGWO) x ASICS GEL-LYTE V ‘Koyo’ is inspired by the colour of the Japanese autumn leaves. Koyo is to the Japanese autumn what cherry blossoms (Sakura) are to spring. The viewing of the leaves (Momijigari) is a popular activity in Japan for centuries. The Koyo season starts in mid September on the northern island of Hokkaido and then moves to the south. Famous Koyo spots are Tohoku, Tokyo and Kyoto. Some trees around Tokyo and Kyoto remain colourful till early December.

The Koyo design uses three shades of dark red standing for the many red tones of the autumn leaves. Another colour is bright yellow, which originates from the yellow edges seen on fallen leaves. The red upper is made of premium nubuck leather. The heel features a structured leather panel with the haptic quality of a leave. The sockliner has a soft all-over-leave-print. It comes with 3 pairs of extra laces.

'SILVER KNIGHT'

Japanese sport lifestyle brand Onitsuka Tiger and long-time friend The Good Will Out (TGWO) have collaborated to create an exclusive TGWO shoe called the SILVER KNIGHT. It is a limited edition of the 1980s running model X-CALIBER. The name plays with the word Excalibur, King Arthur’s magical sword.

The sneaker has a complete 3M upper with structured mesh that shines like a knight’s chain armour. Green stripes sweep over the lateral side, while silver 3M tiger stripes blaze from the medial side. A debossed TGWO logo on the lateral side is matched with a red debossed Onitsuka Tiger logo on the back. A final unique feature is one burgundy metal eyelet on each shoe.

This exquisite X-CALIBER has a suede-padded tongue and comes with three sets of laces in green, burgundy and white 3M. All laces have TGWO written on the tips. The left foot steps into a green sockliner with a TGWO logo, whereas the right foot gets a red sockliner with an Onitsuka Tiger logo.

'AUTOBAHN NIGHT'

The Good Will Out x New Balance 577 Autobahn Pack is inspired by the German autobahn. With a total of 12000 kilometers the autobahn connects various destinations all over Germany since 1932. The first autobahn built was the A555 between Cologne and Bonn – one of the reasons for us to deal with this topic.

German autobahns have no blanket speed limit. Therefore they attract attention from car and speed lovers from all over the world.

The package is divided into a day and a night model.

Day (M577 GWO1)
The main colors grey, blue and white dominate the shoe’s overall appearance. Grey in various shades represents the tarred street surface. Blue and white symbolize the – for the driver indispensable – street signs on the side of the road. Further details such as the “N” on the side of the shoe and the logo on the heel sustain the look. Finally, a driver’s license on the sockliner completes the model.

Night (M577 GWO2)
Black, dark grey, red and white dominate the shoe and represent the autobahn at night time. While standing on a bridge above an autobahn one sees red lights leaving on the right side and white lights coming on the left. Hence, the right shoe has a red 3M heel and the left one a white “glow in the dark” heel. The idea was also implemented on the sockliner.

On both models the autobahn logo is stitched on one side of the shoe tongue and the New Balance model number 577 using the autobahn hexagon design on the other.
