NMD is the new model Adidas has been working on, to bridge the gap between lifestyle and athletics. After rolling out a number of influential silhouettes in 2015, like the Ultra Boost, the phenomenal Yeezy Boost and the more recent Tubular X, the company now has another model on the way for 2016.
According its creators, the sneaker takes its inspiration by three previous shoes` characteristics of the 1984 Micropacer, the 1985 Rising Star and the 1986 Boston Super. Ahead of its NMD release, the time-honored brand takes us into its archives to transmit, how these ’80s classics have served as inspiration for their new flagship. First up is the Micro Pacer, which debuted in 1984 in conjunction with the Los Angeles Olympics and became the first shoe to feature wearable technology. In 1985, the Rising Star pioneered the sneaker customization as well as the running flexibility by its interchangeable and removable cushion elements. Lastly, the multi-functional Boston Super, appearing in 1986 and showcasing versatility as both, a trainer and a runner.
